Manicure and Pedicure

at a salonA good manicure and pedicure is a service all salons should provide and is a treatment I enjoy getting and therefore is a service I offer.

A manicure/ pedicure will keep your nails looking healthy and of course looking good. It has afew hidden benefits as well, the massage part makes for better blood circulation and this will help with the healthy growth of your nails.

What happens during a manicure/ pedicure? They usually will last around 40 minutes and have afew different stages, here is what you can expect when having a manicure.

First of all your hands will be sanitised and any nail polish removed. Once this is done they can be soaked in hot water to make them nice and supple.

As the nails are supple it is easier for them to be trimmed and filed to suit, then of course shaped. During this stage it is also good to push the cuticles back and cut the cuticles if you want them cut, some customers do not like having this done.

The final stage is to exfoliate which removes the dead skin cells and then you can enjoy a nice hand massage using a fine cream. At the very end I will add a polish of your choice ro you can choose a french manicure.

Inbetween trips to the nail salon, it is important to take care of your nails at home also. You should try to avoid removing and reapplying nail polish too often as your nails will become dry, twice a week is about them maximum.

Even if you are not removing nail polish, brush some nail varnish remover over the nails as this helps to remove any dirt or grease.

It is important for you to look after your nails otherwise they will deteriorate. A trip to a beauty salon will be the easiest way but you should also be looking after them at home. You can have a chat with me at my salon in Pool so come and see me and discuss it after a nice relaxing massage.
